These two rules are not the same and this app does not average them.
United States
Party Prep List planning rule. Adults and children are separate counts.
Raw meat shrinks when cooked; bone-in yields less meat on the plate. These are planning rules from Party Prep List, not a law.

FAQ
How many pounds of meat per person?
It depends which labeled rule you picked. They are not averaged.
What is the US planning rule?
Party Prep List: 0.5 lb raw boneless per adult and 0.25 lb per child, unless you edit the rates. Bone-in is a separate suggestion (0.75 lb per adult), not a second hidden formula.
What is the Brazil planning rule?
ChurrascoTime: 400 g per person unless you edit it. Result is also shown in kilograms, rounded up to the next 0.1 kg.
Does this include charcoal?
Only if you turn charcoal on. The starting rate is 1.5 kg of charcoal per kg of meat, from the same Brazil planning rule, and you can edit it.
What does this not include?
Price, sides, drinks, shrinkage as its own deduction, and leftovers. Raw weight is what you buy. Cooked weight is smaller, and this app does not subtract a shrink percent.
